Mullumbimby Farmers Market
During 2022 NRF offered assistance to our members to help develop and share their stories. It began as a series of workshops, and included help to develop a storyboard and script which was produced by our friends Mos & Co. After postponements due to lockdowns, floods and other extreme events we are proud to showcase the first of these member stories which we will share over the next few months.
Our second clip features Mullum Farmers Markets and our stallholders members. It showcases the fabulous Mullumbimby Farmers Markets, focusing on our friends Cheeses Loves You, Rainforest Foods, Hemp Foods, Byron Gourmet Mushrooms, Grumpy Grandma’s Olives, Church Farm General Store, Playing with Fire Native Foods and Nimbin Valley Dairy.
Mullum Farmers Market was set up by the North Byron Farmers Market Association (also operators of the New Brighton Farmers Market) who saw a need for another farmers market in the north of the Byron Shire.
The vision was to expand the traditional farmers market model to include small businesses adding value to locally grown produce. The market would provide a wide range of food and food related products, from fresh fruit and vegetables to artisan food products, seedlings and garden products.
The market supports and encourages local food production, fosters the establishment of small, local food-related businesses and strengthens local food security.
The market has received massive support from the community from day one, and has firmly established itself as both a thriving marketplace and a social hub for the local community.
