We are pleased to announce that the NRF Harvest Food Trail will run again in 2021 over the weekend of May 1st and 2nd.
Part of enjoying food is knowing the story and the 2021 Harvest Food Trail aims to connect people with authentic food and beverage experiences where you can meet the maker.
Expect to choose from a trail of 20+ leading food producers, farms, manufacturers, restaurants, shopfronts, distilleries, breweries and outlets across the region. Enjoy a leisurely self-drive at your own pace, choosing your own itineraries over the weekend.
For those without a car we are also offering special tours to a selection of the providers participating in the program….and MORE.

11. Santos Organics

Drop into the Santos Organics Byron Town Shop to sample products from some of our favourite local suppliers. Our café will be also be serving delicious Harvest Trail organic treats. 11am-4pm Saturday and Sunday.
10/8 Fletcher Street Byron Bay
Discover and experience indigenous foods at Karkalla Byron Bay. We are offering a special Harvest Food Trail Native Indigenous Cooking experience Saturday 11am-12pm. Mindy Woods proud Bundjulung woman and owner of Karkalla will demonstrate one of Karkalla’s signature dishes and invite guests to participate in the experience. Recipes, cooking packs and products will be available for purchase following the demonstration.
13. Beach Byron Bay

Beach is opening their beach front balcony Sat May 1 from 8am-11am for special tastings from three of our local producers – Byron Bay Tea, Byron Bay Mozzarella and Salumi Australia. Enjoy sitting under the picnic tables at Beach, take in the view and sample the fantastic produce on offer. Or drop into the Beach kiosk over the weekend from 7am for breakfast, brunch and lunch, Byron Bay Coffee Company coffee and freshly baked cakes and pastries.

Bay Grocer is excited to share our courtyard with a handful of local producers on Sunday May 2nd between 10 am and 12 midday. Enjoy chat, tastings, treats and a whole lot of interactive fun from Cheeses Loves You, Byron Bay Mozarella, Grumpy Grandma’s Olives, Pyewacket’s Shrubs, Salumi Australia, the Bread Social and I Love a Dog.

Enjoy morning tea from gourmet food producers Brookfarm amongst the macadamia orchards of the Brook family farm and hear from Martin Brook – a trail blazer in regenerative farming. He will educate, inspire and entertain you as he takes you through the regenerative transformation of the farm and importance of regen for our climates future, followed by a farm talk and tour to witness the flourishing local biodiversity. Visit Cape Byron Distillery and dive into a sensory experience of Australian native botanicals. We are offering tasting flights that pair our spirits with the edible and beautifully fragrant botanicals used in our range. We will be offering two specialty experiences:
A sensory experiences where guests will hear our story and learn about the ingredients used to make our products. To accompany the flight, we will include a dish of Australian native ingredients that help to create our unique flavours. We are opening our farmgates to offer you a special full crop to cup on-farm coffee experience, with guided farm walks and roastery tour Saturday only from 8am – 3pm. Taste coffee grown organically right here – and learn how we care for our soils, bees and wildlife. Enjoy superb views overlooking our farm and rainforest creekline from the verandah or under the Poinciana tree. Taste coffee fruit fresh from the trees. Saturday 8am-3pm
19. Harvest Newrybar

Harvest Newrybar are offering a special Harvest Food Trail Sunday Long Lunch in the Bakery from 1pm arrival to 4pm. Cost: $120 per head includes: Whole local sustainable meats cooked in the wood fired bakery oven with sides, condiments and harvest sourdough. Showcasing local producers with a chat by our sommelier and chef.
We also offer a three hour beverage package starting with a Harvest cocktail / native ingredients on arrival then sparkling, white, rose, red and beer + non alcoholic options. Tickets here

This year we are offering a special Duck’s Creek Macadamias Harvest Food Trail Experience with free tastings. Our farm gate store will be open with products available for tasting & purchase.Operating for 30 years, Duck Creek Macadamias have built a reputation of being one of Australia’s finest producers of premium macadamia products. Enjoy a guided tour through our gorgeous Wattle Tree Creek orchards which include mango, custard apple, macadamias, limes, jaboticaba, lychee, avocado, bananas and ending at their Bushfood Gardens which include, lemon myrtle, cinnamon myrtle, aniseed myrtle, curry myrtle, plum myrtle, strawberry gum, fingerlimes, bloodlimes, desert limes, saltbush, Davidson plums, lemon aspen, Burdekin plums, Illawarra plums, black apple, native tamarind, native currant, Atherton almonds, midyim berries, rosellas and a few more. We will also be conducting a live cooking demonstration using Native Australian ingredients and giving out taste testers. Open for two tours only Saturday at 10.30am and 2.30pm.

Barefoot Farm is opening it’s farm gate this weekend for a special Harvest Food Trail weekend. Not normally open to the general public, experience a real working pecan farm in harvest season; hear what’s involved with growing pecans in this region and meet owners Ash and Matt – two Chefs with a shared paddock to plate passion who became farmers. Taste the quality of ingredients and spoonful of love they put into their delicious paddock to plate products. Tours Saturday and Sunday 9.30, 11.30, 1.30pm.
23. Rock Chic Eggs

The big white gates of Sugar Beach Ranch welcome you to meet the Rock stars of Rock Chic Eggs. You’ll see first hand how a chicken ‘seriously free ranges’ amongst the natural vegetation in the sand dunes of South Ballina. We’ll provide groovy DJ tunes and Rock Chic Prosciutto and Truffle Egg Cups. Then chill on your picnic blanket with your favourite bevy and watch the waves roll in or even help collect a few Rock Chic Eggs of your own. Open Sat & Sun from 12 – 3pm.

Visit Hotel Illawong over the weekend to enjoy our special Harvest Food Trail local mezze tasting plate for two for $30. We will be sourcing and providing all local produce on our mezze plate, including pickled vegetables from Eltham Valley Fresh and local farmers markets, toasted and fresh breads from Wurlitzer bakery and of course beautiful, cured meats from local butcher Metcalfs Meats and Salumi Australia. Playing with Fire Native Foods and Explore Byron Bay have joined forces to offer two very special aboriginal tours this weekend around the beautiful Bangalow Parklands. Hosted by local Arakwal descendant Delta Kay, guests will explore the stunning Byron Creek and the hundreds of native plant species located there. Delta will showcase a variety of edible bush tucker plants, as well as plants used for natural medicine, jewellery, fibre, tools and weapons. She speaks about local indigenous history and shares traditional stories. Playing with Fire native foods will have a pop-up shop where you can purchase their award-winning, delicious and nutritious native food products. Tours Sat & Sun, 10am-12pm and 1pm – 3pm. Don’t feel like driving! Enjoy the Harvest Trail on special farm tour with Table Under a Tree! Come on our guided small group tour and enjoy exclusive experiences at trail stops, including access to farms not otherwise open to the public. You’ll travel in the comfort of our small coach, enjoy tastings and treats at each stop and feast on a lunch showcasing local produce. Saturday tour from 8.30am – 4.14pm. Bookings essential.
