The Northern Rivers Food Harvest Festival is all about connecting people with real food on real farms. The Festival provides locals and visitors with an opportunity to sample fresh and beautifully prepared food by renowned local chefs, hear how it is grown and pay homage to our much loved local food producers!
In 2019 we’re excited to be expanding the Northern Rivers Food Harvest Festival to a 10 day celebration – with an Opening Event at the soon-to-be opened Husk Distillers at North Tumbulgum, our inaugural Harvest Autumn Fair at the North Byron Parklands and the return of our Harvest Trail.
Between these key events, Northern Rivers Food members will be showcasing a series of local food tours, dinners and food experiences, from paddock to plate and seed to flower!
Part of enjoying the food, is knowing the story… understanding where your food was grown, the sustainable methods used to grow or produce the food, the farmer who grew and brought the food to market or the local baker who lovingly baked the bread. We all love the back-story!
As part of our Harvest Food Festival in 2018, NRF offered our Harvest Food Trails for the first time – a self drive foodie experience where you can jump in your car and leisurely enjoy the whole farm to plate experience.
In 2019 we’re expanding the Harvest Trail, with participating farmers and food producers stretching from the Tweed to Grafton on the weekend of Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 May 2019. For further info please contact NRF’s EO on firstname.lastname@example.org
