Byron Bush Food comes from our family farm nestled in the Byron Hinterland – home to the Bundjalung nation. As caretakers of this beautiful land we’ve dedicated ourselves to continuing the natural practices undertaken before us, and honouring mother nature for what she provides. Our land is made up of a beautiful one acre Davidson plum orchard, surrounded by lemon myrtle trees, aniseed myrtle, native citrus, atherton almonds and a regenerated rainforest – a project we are passionate about.
We’re Jess & Carl and together with our two boys Van and Wolfe we live wild and full of life on this land. We believe food is medicine and are dedicated to supplying our community with the most nutritious, native tasting experiences.
Our freeze dried powder is packed full of antioxidant nourishment, lovingly picked by hand and made in small batches – we are dedicated to sustainable, ethical practices and reducing our footprint on this earth.
A bit about our freeze dried powder…
Davidson Plum, also known as Ooray, is the queen of the rainforest believed to build your immune system, help your skin glow and keep your brain sharp. She contains high levels of antioxidants, vitamin E, zinc, magnesium and folate.
Food is medicine and our freeze dried powder is full of nutrition and flavour. This Australian Native food is a wonderful hero ingredient, something to add to your food daily with a beautiful vibrant colour and tart tangy flavour.
We use it everyday on our muesli, porridge, in our water bottles, with hot water as tea, sprinkled on fish, calamari, slow cooked meat or chocolate cake.
