Becoming a member of NRF is a great way to connect with others in the local food industry. We have a great network of local food industry people from gate to plate – restaurants, food manufacturers, growers & producers, agri-tourism operators, dietitians, nutritionists & wellness people, food marketers, engineers, legal & financial people and everything in between! It’s a terrific network of people who want to work together to grow our local food scene.
On joining you will hear about our regular (usually at least monthly) events just for you – our Events & Grower Committees develop our events calendar for the year with a great mix of different topics, guest speakers & venues which also help profile our members. We also offer workshops throughout the year on topical issues. Our members have a discounted rate for all of these events.
Thanks to the generosity of Stone & Wood, we offer a regular “Village Gathering” at the Stone & Wood Brewery in Byron once a month, just for members…a happy hour if you will, to bring like-minded industry people together. At these gatherings we like to profile a different member each month with food that goes with beer!
Our industry members have the opportunity to share their news each month and to share news of new products or events to our foodie members via NRF e-newsletters each month. You can view our News blog here. We also offer a free business listing for all our industry members on our NRF website and help promote our members via social media…sharing the love where we can.
NRF offer our members the chance to participate in our annual NRF Harvest Food Festival and Harvest Food Trails each year, to help connect people with real food on real farms. Our Harvest Food Festival Committee plans a cracking festival each year, and are always seeking interest from our members who would like to participate.
And when there are opportunities to participate in things like media famils, trade events, producer dinners & regional events….you will be the first to hear about them! When we hear about opportunities for our local food industry, as a NRF member, you will be the first to hear…
Our workshops are planned by people just like you, who run businesses in the food industry. The topics vary depending on need, but you can be sure the workshops are always interesting, topical and relevant for our local food businesses.
