Food Industry membership

Becoming a member of NRF is a great way to connect with others in the local food industry. We have a great network of local food industry people from gate to plate – restaurants, food manufacturers, growers & producers, agri-tourism operators, dietitians, nutritionists & wellness people, food marketers, engineers, legal & financial people and everything in between! It’s a terrific network of people who want to work together to grow our local food scene.

Benefits of joining as Food Industry members:

Opportunities and connections

Get connected

On joining you will hear about our regular (usually at least monthly) events just for you – our Events and Grower Committees develop our events calendar for the year with a great mix of different topics, guest speakers and venues which also help profile our members. We also offer workshops throughout the year on topical issues. Our members have a discounted rate for all of these events.

Find your tribe

We offer regular networking events, just for members… to profile different members and bring like-minded industry people together!

Spruik your stuff

Our industry members have the opportunity to share their news each month and to share news of new products or events to our foodie members via NRF e-newsletters each month. You can view our News blog here. We also offer a free business listing for all our industry members on our NRF website and help promote our members via social media…sharing the love where we can.

Create opportunities

NRF Offers our members the chance to participate in our annual consumer NRF Harvest Food Trail on the first weekend in May. With this festival, we aim to showcase the amazing diversity and abundance of food & beverage experiences in our region and offer consumers a fantastic self-drive food experience. We are always seeking interest from our members who would like to participate.

Be the First to Hear

And when there are opportunities to participate in things like media famils, trade events, producer dinners and regional events… you will be the first to hear about them! When we hear about opportunities for our local food industry, as a NRF member, you will be the first to hear…

Workshops With You in Mind

Our workshops are planned by people just like you, who run businesses in the food industry. The topics vary depending on need, but you can be sure the workshops are always interesting, topical and relevant for our local food businesses.

Membership Criteria

It’s important we keep it real and our Constitution sets out the Northern Rivers Food Rules & Regulations, so for our food industry membership we have criteria which our members must meet, namely:

  • The food business must be primarily located in the Northern Rivers region, AND
  • The goods and/or services produced by the business must be primarily created within the region using local produce where available; AND
  • The business has a commitment to using local labour for operations within the region.
